Civil City Commission:
Chairman- David Morris Vice-Chairman- David Farcas Committee Member: Mike Mogg Sr. Fact: In Trumbull County there are less than 10 actual cities. Hubbard City and its surrounding Township operate separately but share the same Fire Department but separate Police Departments. Hubbard City and Township work together to create a JEDD (Joint Economic Development District) where inner state 80 is for business to be successful!
City Building/Township Building/ Board of Health:
Services offered: Child & Family Health Programs (i.e vision, hearing screenings), Child & Family Safety Programs (i.e car seats), immunizations, health education, communicable disease programs, medical reserve corps information, environmental health (water sanitation, sewage, septic operation), rabies awareness, TB clinic Strengths: The City of Hubbard provides its residents with water, sewage and electric instead of going through a 3rd party in which the residents do not have to pay astronomically high utility bills. With the city providing its own electric, whenever there is a power outage they are able to get the power back on and running within minutes. Having city workers who clean leaves and branches off of the sidewalks really adds beauty to the city and provides for a clean, fresh community.
Weaknesses: Hubbard does not have its own Board of Health Department so residents are forced to drive outside of the city to attend checkups or get their immunizations. FACTS: Hubbard has their own support group called "CARE" (Community Awareness Response and Education) available to family and friends of the addicted. The group provides complimentary pizza, pop and coffee as they come together to address overdose through awareness, education and action. Can call: 330-534-3090 or 330-531- 1897 or go to Hubbard Public Library, 436 West Liberty Street to attend the meetings (more info on www.cityofhubbard-oh.gov
